We are accredited by the South Carolina Medical Association to provide continuing medical education to physicians. In addition to our internal programs, we work with outside organizations to help them develop programming and carrying out the requirements of a CME program.
The Steadman Hawkins' Fellowship Program in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction provides a broad clinical sports medicine and shoulder experience for physicians.
Our Primary Care Sports Medicine Program is a one-year post-graduate fellowship program for primary care physicians from accredited residency programs in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and emergency medicine.
Within our surgical bioskill laboratories, we facilitate education on new techniques, new surgical products and new procedures that speed efficiencies and improve outcomes for orthopaedic patients.
Our lab goes beyond orthopaedics. All surgical specialties take advantage of our unique facilities to improve personally or as a teaching took for residents, fellows, surgical teams or other medically related professionals.
We develop seminars and symposiums designed to education a wide variety of medical professionals. Our largest meeting is our mid-year Sports Medicine Symposium where over 200 gather for 1 1/2 days to hear the latest on injury prevention, rehabilitation and on-field management.
We also facilitate weekly talks that advance musculoskeletal knowledge for physical therapists and orthopaedic surgeons.
We partner with several outstanding South Carolina universities to offer aspiring medical school students an opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience in an orthopaedic clinical environment. These student volunteers work hand- in-hand with physicians, physical therapists and athletic trainers through the development and collection of research data.
